     Health Consumers Queensland (HCQ) has been asked to provide consumer representatives for the following committees.

Please note that consumers must be registered with HCQ Consumer Network to take part in our Consumer Representatives Program.  If you have not registered to be part of our Consumer Network you can join by completing and submitting the online registration form.

Vacancy 1: Consumer Representative vacancy for the Dementia Clinical Network

     

The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Service, Queensland Health, is requesting HCQ's assistance with the recruitment of a consumer representative for their Statewide Dementia Clinical Network.

 

The Network’s aims are to:

• improve the quality of dementia services;
• develop an open and supportive environment for clinicians and other government and non-government personnel involved in the care of dementia patients; and
• foster education and research.

The consumer representative would need to:

• Attend monthly, one-hour meetings (February 2012 - February 2014). The meetings are usually held on the last Thursday of the month, starting at 3.15pm at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Level 14, Block 7. Teleconferencing will also be available.
• Attend biannual forums. The forums are usually held at The Pavilion, Breakfast Creek, Brisbane.
• Be prepared to read and review documents in preparation for meetings and on occasion comment via email on documents between meetings.
• Have a mechanism to feedback information to other consumers and to represent other consumers' views.

 

The reimbursement rates (includes preparation time) for the consumer representative are:

• $167 for meetings<4hrs
• $334 for meetings>4hrs
• Motor vehicle allowance (varies depending on cc of vehicle - $0.63 to $0.75/km)
• Consideration will be given to reimbursement of reasonable travel and accommodation to attend meetings.
