Chemical Spills

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) responds to chemical spills and other hazardous materials incidents. Firefighters are equipped with protective chemical suits, and work with the Counter Disaster & Rescue Services Chemical Hazards Unit to safely manage hazardous substances and minimise risk to the community and the environment. The Chemical Hazards and Emergency Management Services (CHEM Services) is a branch of the Counter Disaster and Rescue Services Division of the Department of Emergency Services.
