Non-Acute Episodes of Care (includes unqualified newborns)

Description Monthly non-acute admitted patient episodes of care for Queensland Public Acute Hospitals. Data are only available for the top 28 Hospitals.  
Definition

These figures complement the acute episodes of care figures that are presented (and defined) elsewhere in this series of tables. These acute and non-acute figures together comprise the total admitted patient episodes of care at each hospital.

Non-acute episodes of care are those that do not meet the definitions for acute care. The non-acute episodes of care figures presented here include the following types of care:

  • Rehabilitation care
  • Palliative care
  • Geriatric evaluation and management
  • Psychogeriatric care
  • Maintenance care
  • Other Admitted Care
  • Unqualified newborns
