Definition |
Any examination, consultation, treatment or other service provided to a non-admitted patient in a functional unit of a health service facility. Excludes services provided to admitted patients of a facility at that facility's outpatient clinic. Private outpatient clinics are also excluded. |

| Terminology | 'Non-admitted patient occasions of service' are the emergency department, outpatient, pharmacy, pathology, and radiology services provided by the hospital to non-admitted patients. | |

Timeliness |
Data are generally available 28 days after the completion of the reference month. If a hospital has not provided their data electronically before that time, then the monthly data for that hospital are imputed by an estimation process |
