Queensland Health is developing Health Outcomes Plans for the National Health Priority Areas - Cardiovascular Health (Coronary Heart Disease and Stroke), Cancer, Injury, Diabetes and Asthma. In parallel, it is developing strategic policy frameworks for population groups, with an initial focus on Indigenous People, Children and Young People, and Older People.
Collectively, these approaches aim to guide the planning and delivery of health services. The plans assemble the evidence base for strategies across the spectrum of prevention and early detection, treatment and management, rehabilitation, continuing care and palliation where applicable.
Please note the evidence supporting the strategies was current at the time of publication. An Expert Advisory Group, which included representation from a consumer group, expert clinicians, researchers and health service planners guided the development of the Plan. However, new evidence may have emerged since the release of the Health Outcomes Plan and readers are advised to seek the most recent sources of information, some of which may be found in the "What's New" page of this website.
