Training and coordination of the upgraded platform is being managed in conjunction with the DSS Team. John Gorgogianis
FAMMIS Developments A number of system improvements are under development to improve system functionality and controls. These include:
  • Emailing Purchase Orders and Remittance Advices
  • Implementation of new plant for Distribution Centre
  • Other SCMIS related functionality
Ron Steer
Barcode System Replacement The barcode system for stock replenishment, requisitioning and asset management is being replaced. The project is expected to commence in July 2010 with pilots of the new barcode devices and software at Royal Brisbane Womens Hospital followed by other metropolitan and regional centres in the coming months. The solution includes new touch screen bar code devices and enhanced functionality for users. Leanne Berwick
Business Process Review The QH Shared Service Partner in conjunction with the Supply Chain Management Integration Strategy (SCMIS) project is developing standard business processes for purchasing, contract management, warehousing, increased Corporate Purchasing Card use and streamlined accounts payable procedures. John Gorgogianis
Supply Chain Management Integration Strategy (SCMIS) Project The SCMIS Project is implementing a supply chain management strategy that includes the establishment of 3 Distribution Centres, improved inbound and outbound freight processes, and a standardised and streamlined procurement services delivery model. Peter Campbell - Senior Supply Manager (SCMIS)
Imprest Management Solution As part of the implementation of the revised SCMIS service delivery models, an imprest management solution has been developed in FAMMIS to support the stock replenishment process in hospitals and health facilities. The solution was implemented in the first half of 2010 and is being progressively rolled out to all hubs and facilities. Ron Steer
Whole of Government (woG) Finance System Implementation The replacement for FAMMIS is part of the whole of Government implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning replacement system/s. Bill Stewart is the Queensland Health "process owner" for Purchasing and Logistics and PLBIU is working closely with QH Enterprise Solutions Transition (QHEST) team to manage the implementation. The projected implementation date for the new system is 2013. Ron Steer
Contract Lifecycle Management A Contract Lifecycle Management system is to be implemented across Queensland Health commencing in July 2010. The solution will provide a central repository for storage of procurement and contract management information. It will enable an enterprise-wide approach to standard procurement and contract management processes leading to reduced process costs and improved procurement and contracting capabilities. The system will allow users across the organisation to view contract information at a glance and have access to extensive reporting. Craig Hanrahan
Point of Use Data Capture Pilot Project The hTrak point of use data capture (POUDC) solution will be piloted in the Redcliffe Hospital as the third phase of a project to establish capability in operating theatres to automatically capture a range of information about patient procedures, facility utilisation costs, tracking of implantable devices and clinical costing data. This data will make an important contribution to the quality of data that will be used to inform activity based funding models and aligns with Queensland Health's strategic priority of "meeting Queenslanders' healthcare needs safely and sustainable" and in particular, the stated objective to "improve patient care, safety and patient outcomes". Leanne Berwick
National Product Catalogue The National Product Catalogue (NPC) is an initiative of the National E-Health Transition Authority (NEHTA) to create a national repository of supply chain data for products supplied to the Health industry. The NPC is based in the GS1net solution and will be the primary source for product data used in the Queensland Health corporate catalogue. It also supports Queensland Health's planned move to an e-Procurement solution in 2013. A position statement endorsed by all Australian Health jurisdictions outlines the support for the NPC. Peter Laing
Master Catalogue Information System A Master Catalogue Information System (MCIS) is planned for implementation as a pilot project in conjunction with NEHTA to assist with data integration and synchronisation between FAMMIS and the NPC. Ron Steer
Oral Health - Implementation of FAMMIS FAMMIS is being implemented in the Central Pharmacy in conjunction with QHEST for the purchase, warehousing and distribution of oral health supplies. FAMMIS will replace the PRONTO system and the scheduled go-live date is September 2010. PLBIU / QHEST
