Running programs
The program may only be called Lighten Up to a Healthy Lifestyle if it is run by an accredited facilitator as designed and presented in the training program and facilitators’ manual.
Organisations other than those hosting a Program Coordinator (Healthy Lifestyle) may provide a Lighten Up program for Queensland communities with the agreement of the Lighten Up Area Coordinator. Appropriately qualified members of the organisation must have completed the Lighten Up training program prior to running the program.
Expectations of trained facilitators:
-
Facilitate or co-facilitate at least one nine to ten week Lighten Up Program in the first twelve months of being facilitator trained and from then on one every twelve months or as demand requires
-
Maintain regular contact with the Program Coordinator (Healthy Lifestyle) and/or Lighten Up Area Coordinator (details below)
-
Conduct regular evaluation of the program, to ensure the program is being conducted in accordance with Queensland Health guidelines and to assist in periodic statewide evaluation of the program; enter participant data into forms on the Lighten Up website, or forward paperwork to Program Coordinator (Healthy Lifestyle) (or in their absence the Lighten Up Area Coordinator)
-
Maintain skills through relevant professional development opportunities, for example the one-day professional updates delivered by Lighten Up Area Coordinators
-
Any content change to the Lighten Up program must maintain the objectives and learning outcomes of each session
-
Any content change to any session of the Lighten Up program that does not maintain the objectives and learning outcomes must call the program by another name and acknowledge the Lighten Up program (due to copyright)
