The National Continence Helpline

This free telephone service provides information about continence, and callers may be referred to a local continence advisor for assessment and treatment options to improve incontinence.  The continence advisor can also identify if continence aids are required, suggest equipment to use and complete MASS application forms.  Contact the National Continence Helpline - Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm on 1800 33 00 66 or  www.continence.org.au

FIRST STEPS CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINE - 2007
First Steps in the Management of Urinary Incontinence in Community-Dwelling Older People – a clinical practice guideline for primary clinicians (registered nurses and allied health professionals) Revised Version 2007.  This resource outlines continence assessment and management best practice and provides a guideline that encourages primary level health professionals to work collaboratively to improve the continence outcomes of older people living in the community.  Print the following sections in sequence to gain a full copy of the guideline.

SECOND STEPS CLINICAL PRACTICE GUIDELINE - 2008
Second Steps in the Management of Urinary Incontinence in Community-Dwelling Older People – a clinical practice guideline for secondary level clinicians (continence advisors and continence physiotherapists) Revised 2008.   This second clinical practice guideline developed by the MASS/HACC Continence Project team is an extension of the 'First Steps' guideline.  Print the following sections in sequence to gain a full copy of the guideline.

CONTINENCE CLINICIANS MENTORING FRAMEWORK - 2006
Queensland Continence Clinicians - Mentoring Framework provides information to HACC continence clinicians on mentoring relationships.  Mentorship can be used as a framework to enable clinical best practice development to promote efficient and effective client and service health care outcomes.
