Queensland Health is committed to providing a supportive working environment for its medical practitioners to enable them to undertake their duties in a professional manner. Medical practitioners engaged by Queensland Health to perform clinical or other services will be indemnified for claims made against them, and will be provided legal representation and assistance, in accordance with Queensland Health's Indemnity framework.Medical indemnity is provided FREE to medical practitioners employed by Queensland Health. HR Policy I2 Indemnity for Queensland Health Medical Practitioners provides specific detail around the mechanisms that are in place. Medical practitioners providing services to private patients in certain circumstances, will also be indemnified.
