APPLICATION INFORMATION FOR INTERNS

Welcome to Queensland Health’s Intern Recruitment and Placement Campaign for 2009.

Applications for an intern position in Queensland open on Tuesday, 10 June 2008

Applications will be open for two weeks. Closing date for all applications is 12 midnight (AEST) Wednesday, 25 June 2008

All applications must be made through the on-line recruitment and placement program which is accessible from this page. Written applications will not be accepted. Applicants can make changes to their application on-line until the closing date.

For Queensland Graduates (Priority 1 & 5)

An Intern Information Night will be held for all Queensland Medical students (final year) on Wednesday 28th May 2008. Further details will be issued to your University at a later date.

Withdrawing Your Application

Applicants may withdraw their lodged application on-line at any time.

An applicant withdrawing their application after 12 midnight (AEST) Wednesday, 25 June 2008 will not be considered for an intern position in Queensland for 2009.

Once an application has been withdrawn, the system will automatically notify the applicant and the applicant’s nominated hospital preferences of their withdrawal.

Promptness in notification of withdrawal will assist participating health care facilities in the selection process of interns for 2009.

2009 Health Care Facilities Term Dates

The 2009 year commences on Monday, 12 January 2009 through to Sunday, 10 January 2010.

Queensland Health Interns are required to undertake a paid Intern Orientation program for five working days prior to the start of the official hospital year. In 2009 the Intern Orientation program will commence on January 5th.

Applicants referred through the E-Recruitment Modules have not been filtered or screened other than the automatic prioritisation done by the E- Recruitment Module; and

It is still the responsibility of the facility intending to employ the intern to validate information provided by the intern in relation to pre-employment requirements such as registration before commencement and to take action to ensure this occurs.
