Medical Officer Remuneration Packages
Queensland Health provides attractive remuneration packages for medical practitioners. The documents below provide details of packages available to medical officers. They provide details of both the bottom and top of each pay scale. It is important to note that there are increment levels between the bottom and top levels in each pay scale (please see Clause 2.5 of the Agreement below).

The package offered to medical officers employed by Queensland Health includes:
Staff Specialist / Senior Medical Officers

- 17.5% annual leave loading
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation
- Twelve (12) weeks paid maternity leave (with half pay option)
- Forty (40) hour week, with overtime provisions (variable)
- On call allowances (variable)
- Four (4) weeks paid annual leave with option to purchase up to six (6) weeks additional annual leave per year (subject to service delivery requirements)
- Professional Development Allowance of $20 000 per annum (includes International Medical Graduates)
- Professional development leave accruable at 3.6 weeks per year (includes International Medical Graduates)
- Clinical Managers Allowance of between $4 826 and $19 303 per annum for directors of departments

Resident Medical Officers (inc. Registrars)

- 38 hour week with overtime provisions (variable)

- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation

- Four (4) weeks paid annual leave with option to purchase up to six (6) additional annual leave per year (subject to service delivery requirements)
- Twelve (12) weeks paid maternity leave (with half pay option)
- Vocational Training Subsidy of $1,500 per annum for Resident Medical Officers who confirm their acceptance and remain in a vocational training program
- Professional Development Leave accruable at one (1) week per year (up to a maximum accrual of two years)
