The Mount Isa Health Service District has a strong relationship with the Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health (MICRRH).
The James Cook University Mount Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health is a Commonwealth initiative to promote the development of a workforce capacity in Rural, Remote, Indigenous and Population Health. It has a multidisciplinary focus on education and research aimed specifically on the needs of rural and remote communities.
Over the past 10 years MICRRH has worked with health providers to promote innovation in health services education and models of service delivery. These health providers include the following:
