You can request a specific interpreter

You can request a specific interpreter by telling the health service the name of the interpreter you prefer.  Queensland Health will try to meet your request.  However, if that specific interpreter is not available, or if that interpreter is not NAATI trained, an alternative interpreter will be booked.  The most important issue is that a trained interpreter will be provided so that you are able to communicate effectively with the Queensland Health staff member.
