The report includes a range of recommendations to government by the CRG relating to future emissions control, future land use planning, emergency planning and emergency response arrangements.
The findings and key recommendations are summarised in Health Impact Assessment Narangba Industrial Estate Summary of Findings.
The HIA has been presented to relevant State and Local Government agencies for implementation as appropriate. The Narangba Industrial Estate Health Impact Assessment - Agency Responses to Recommendations outlines the relevant agency response to the CRG recommendations.
Information to inform the health impact assessment was derived from a number of studies collated into the following key areas:
Health status data provides a snap shot of the health of the general community. This report provides results from information extracted and analysed from hospitalisation, death and cancer registries for the Narangba area.
Additional information relating to individual environmental health risk perception was obtained through a telephone based survey.
The post event review examines whether or not the emergency management framework was adequate to protect the greater community from risks and hazards associated with emergency situations/incidents. The key purpose of the report was to provide information to inform future land use, regulatory and emergency planning decision making processes.
Reports relating to various air quality monitoring conducted throughout the project are published in this section of the website.
The environmental health risk assessment report examines whether or not pollutants in the air are present at levels that may cause health problems in the community. The human health risk assessment used actual measurements and modelling of air pollutants in the air to describe risks to the community. Please note that this report contains 539 pages.
