Premier Peter Beattie wants Queenslanders to submit their ideas on how to tackle obesity. The ideas will be considered by Obesity Summit delegates at the two-day forum at Parliament House in Brisbane on 3-4 May 2006.
According to the National Health Survey (February 2006), 62 per cent of men and 45 per cent of women reported being overweight or obese. Obesity is a major health issue in Queensland. -
The Summit will bring together a range of experts and stakeholders to identify new ways to promote and achieve healthier and more active lifestyles.
