There are many opportunities for career development within the twenty districts of Queensland Health. Nurses/midwives are supported and encouraged to enhance their skills throughout their career with Queensland Health in line with individual and organisational goals and professional requirements. Career development is managed through the Performance Appraisal and Development (PAD) (this link will only work on Queensland Health computers with access to QHEPS) system and is a development pathway reflective of a continuum of practice. The PAD system is also used as a means to support and indentify individual career development plans in line with the aims and the anticipated outcomes of succession management.
