Implementation
The planning and delivery of all nursing and midwifery staff development programs conducted within Queensland Health are guided by the Queensland Health Nursing and Midwifery Staff Development Framework (the Framework).
Roles and Responsibilities
Roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the Framework include:

Nurses and midwives undertaking programs within the Framework are responsible for providing feedback on the conduct and content of programs to ensure ongoing quality education and training.

Nursing and Midwifery Line Managers are responsible for assisting their nursing/midwifery staff to identify development oppportunities in line with individual and organisational goals. Planning of learning and development activities is undertaken as part of the
Performance Appraisal and Development system.

Nurse and Midwifery Educators have the responsibility to develop or contextualise the learning to the clinical setting in collaboration with Nurse and Midwifery Leaders including Clinical Nurse Consultants and Nurse and Midwifery Unit Managers.

Nursing and Midwifery Leaders share in the oversight and function.

Evaluation
Annual evaluation of the Framework is initiated and progressed through relevant nursing/midwifery leadership committees.
