The Nursing and Midwifery Staff Development Framework outlines a supported learning and development pathway for nurses and midwives comprising three key learning and development stages integral to career development across the workforce continuum. The learning and development pathway acknowledges and builds on current skills and knowledge of nurses and midwives and supports transition to competent practice and continuing professional development towards higher education qualifications.
