Nursing and midwifery learning and development has been grouped into three (3) stages and integrates learning into career development across the workforce continuum. A nurse/midwife will be at a point on a continuum of beginning to advanced practice in a particular work context at any given time dependent on their career pathway choices. As the practice context changes the nurse/midwife may move to a point of beginning or transition practice in a different area of practice.
