Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals and Redcliffe-Caboolture Mental Health Services - Metro North Hospital and Health Service

Location
Caboolture Hospital - McKean Street, Caboolture (44km North of Brisbane)
Kilcoy Hospital - Kilcoy (45 minutes North West of Caboolture)

Mental Health Program for Graduates:
Redcliffe-Caboolture Mental Health Service recruits Graduates through Caboolture Hospital GNOR processes, and at this stage it is envisaged that for start of 2013 there will be 3 temporary (for a period of 12 months) part time (0.8 FTE/64hrs per fortnight).  The Mental Health Service Graduate program offers rotations through a variety of Mental Health units (inpatient and community), and Graduates will complete the Transition to Practice Nurse Education Program - Mental Health, which will give them recognised credit points towards a Masters in Mental Health.
If you are seeking Mental Health Graduate Program through Caboolture, put Caboolture Hospital (not Redcliffe) as your first (1st) preference hospital, AND identify Mental Health as your first (1st) clinical preference. You will then be allocated to the Mental Health GNOR process, and not included in the Acute Hospital/Kilcoy Hospital GNOR process. Start date is anticipated to be February 4th 2013.

Graduate Registered Nurse Program:
Caboolture and Kilcoy hospitals work in partnership with nurse graduate placements, and are dedicated to maximise positions in our program.  We therefore offer part time positions (most are 0.7FTE/56hrs per fortnight), for a temporary period of 12 months.  Individuals are encouraged to apply for permanent positions throughout their graduate year to secure ongoing employment.

Graduate Registered Nurse intakes are twice a year - February and August.  The commencement date is the 4th week of those months.

Placements:
The Graduate Registered Nurse program is based on a Preceptorship model - well structured and supported by Nurse Educators, and includes 3 education days throughout the year. A support network is based on learning modules set up with Nurse Educators. Graduate Registered Nurses appointed to Theatre are expected to undertake the full Transition Support Program to Perioperative.

Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals value the diversity of learning experience, and support this by having both rotational positions (that allow exposure to medical and surgical placements) and fixed positions (primarily for specialities).  Below are a list of types of rotations for 2012:

The number and allocation of positions for each intake are subject to availability.
