Wages
In the Queensland public sector, the annual base wage for a registered nurse or midwife (Nurse Grade 5) at graduate starting level is $52,450.

Shift allowances
If you are rostered for shift work, you will receive the following shift allowances in addition to your base rate of pay:

12.5 per cent for afternoon shifts

20 per cent for night shifts

50 per cent for Saturdays

75 per cent for Sundays

150 per cent for special Public Holidays - Easter Saturday and Labor Day

50 per cent for all other Public Holidays

100 per cent for Christmas Day, special loading

Qualifications allowance of between 3.5 per cent and 5.5 per cent based on Nurse Grade 5 (pay point 7) for relevant continuing education credentials.
Salary packaging
Salary packaging for a number of items is available. Payments towards car and home repayments can be made pre-tax and up to 100% of earnings can be sacrificed to superannuation.
Rural and remote incentives
Queensland Health Australia, has implemented a range of incentives as part of a compensation package to assist recruitment and retention of registered and enrolled nurses and midwives in Rural and Remote facilities.
