'Culturally appropriate resources are not just a translation of nutrition information.'

Publishing of resources appropriate for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) clients on the Nutrition Education Materials Online (NEMO) website must emphasise that the materials are culturally appropriate resources not just a translation of nutrition information.

To qualify for publishing, the nutrition information within the materials will need to demonstrate that they are:

A critique tool has been developed by the CALD NEMO group to ensure the materials are nutritionally accurate and consistent. It is also a requirement that the materials have been developed through community consultation and engagement.  Materials designed or developed for CALD communities/clients that do not meet essential criteria items will not be considered appropriate for the NEMO website. All of the materials will need to declare acknowledgement to the author and reference correctly to the primary source.

These resources have been posted on the site for consultation feedback and are designed to be used by health professionals.  Please use these resources freely throughout the consultation phase.  For feedback, suggestions for further work or to participate in one of the working groups for further development of resources please contact us.
