The Clinical Academic Fellowships are to provide salary support for newly created positions between Queensland publicly funded health facilities and Queensland universities (“the joint applicants”). The fellowships provide a salary top-up of up to $75,000 per annum for five years.
Please Note: Individual researchers are not eligible to apply for this fellowship. This application process requires the collaboration of Queensland publicly funded health care facilities and Queensland universities to design new positions that will increase research activity and provide a focus on clinical excellence.
The application process for the Clinical Academic Fellowships is made up of two stages.
Stage One requires a joint application to be made by a Queensland publicly funded health facility and a Queensland university. The joint applicants are required to design a proposed position that includes a minimum of 30% full time equivalent (FTE) spent on research and a minimum of 30% FTE spent on clinical duties.
Stage Two requires successful joint applicants to advertise and recruit a suitably qualified clinical academic to the position.

Exceptional international level researchers might also be interested in the Senior Clinical Research Fellowships that provide funding of $850,000 pa for five years.
Early and mid career clinician and health researchers might be interested in the Health Research Fellowships that provide funding of $150,000 or $125,000 pa for five years.
