Where will I work?

You may be assigned to provide relief in any area of Queensland, however most placements will take place outside the metropolitan area.  You can choose your preference of location on your Expression of Interest form and every attempt wil be made to accommodate your request.

Basic relief staff requirements

All oral health professionals recruited to the OHRP, other than dental assistants, require current relevant registration.  Dentists, dental and oral health therapists, and dental assistants who are trained to take radiographs will require an x-ray licence.  All oral health professionals recruited to the OHRP require a minimum of twelve months experience.

In addition, dentists may also require a provider number for the location they will be placed in, and a prescriber number.  The need for these numbers will be identified at the time of placement.

For further information, please refer to the requirements to practise page.

Quality management

Guidelines and procedures have been developed to support this service and are available by contacting the OHRP team. There is a framework to support any complaints that may be received from either party, and a clinical governance model for performance management. Read more about the complaints procedure
