ORH Staff

The Office of Rural Health was established in 1997 with the purpose of managing the Queensland Health Rural Scholarship Scheme. Since then we have grown and now manage several Scholarship and Subsidy Schemes as well as other workforce initiatives designed to combat workforce shortages in rural and regional areas.
Scholarships: The Office of Rural Health Scholarship Schemes offer more. More training, more exposure, more opportunity. So if you want to give your career the best possible start, talk to us. There's no limit to how far you can go!
Queensland Country Practice: The marketing targets Australian medical graduates, specifically experienced rural practitioners returning to the bush after reskilling, experienced urban GP's making a "Queensland Country" change after reskilling and recent graduates seeking a rural vocational pathway. Queensland Country Practice markets opportunities in rural generalist practice and training, MSRPP practice, VMO Practice, private practice and senior experience relieving service (new).
