Clinical Placement Subsidy Scheme

The Allied Health Clinical Placement Subsidy is provided to assist allied health students with expenses associated with the clinical placement requirements of undergraduate and graduate-entry masters (GEMS) education, where the placement is completed in a setting away from the region where study is being undertaken.

The subsidy is designed to allow students to experience clinical practice in different settings across the state, and to assist in the completion of the clinical placement requirements of the university course. Priority will be given to applications for placements in rural and remote areas but applications to other areas will also be considered, particularly for disciplines where there are limited placement opportunities. It is envisaged that this strategy will assist in the future recruitment of allied health professionals to regions outside metropolitan areas.

It is not a given that each application will be approved - each application is assessed on a case by case basis. The subsidy will cease when all funding has been exhausted.

Scholarship recipients are not eligible for this subsidy.
