Population Health Scholarship Programme

 

 

Queensland Health is offering a Population Health Scholarship Programme for the first time in 2008.

 

This exciting opportunity is available to four students wishing to undertake undergraduate (excluding first year enrolments) or post-graduate Population Health programmes.  Each scholarship will be provided for a period of up to two years. 

 

Scholarship recipients will be guaranteed employment with the State’s largest employer of Population Health specialists: Queensland Health.  Upon accepting their scholarship, recipients will be appointed as permanent employees of Queensland Health.  After graduation, scholarship recipients will work for at least one year as an entry level practitioner with Queensland Health.  The location of employment will be negotiated with the successful applicants. Numerous locations and options are available throughout the state.

Applicable Population Health Disciplines

In 2008, the Population Health Scholarship Programme will be available to the following population health disciplines:

Assessment Criteria

The following simple requirements will form part of the application assessment criteria:

Allowances and Grant Funds

The Population Health Scholarship Programme provides to each scholarship recipient the following:

 

Living Allowance -                               $7,000 per annum

Tertiary Grant -                                    $4,700 per annum

Travel/Conference Allowance-           $   500 per annum

            Total:                                                  $12,200 per annum
