Physician's Assistant Pilot Program in Queensland

APPLICATIONS for the Physician’s Assistant Pilot Program have now closed. Queensland Health will be conducting interviews with shortlisted candidates in November 2008. Australia's largest public health employer, Queensland Health, is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Physician's Assistants to be part of a landmark 12-month trial of Physician's Assistant practise across Queensland, Australia. 10 selected Physician's Assistants will work across five sites, with a network of medical professionals to pilot and advance the practise in Queensland.

Successful candidates will:

  • Hold and maintain a current NCCPA certification for the employment period
  • Have a current license to practise as a Physician Assistant
  • Have a minimum of six (6) years experience as a Physician Assistant in Emergency/ Primary Care OR Interventional Cardiology
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
