The Clinical Council is the key decision and policy making body for Princess Alexandra Hospital and was formed following changes in administration in 2006. Clinical Council is held routinely on a monthly basis.
Executive Director of Princess Alexandra Hospital, Dr Richard Ashby, is the Chair and membership is comprised of representation from all of the clinical divisions, Clinical Support Services and other support services, including the Centres for Health Research and the Senior Medical Staff Association. Essentially, the purpose of the Clinical Council is to consider and prioritise clinical service delivery across the hospital.
It regularly reviews and reports on key functional areas of PAH’s services including activity, quality and safety, finance and workforce. In addition, guests are invited to attend to deliver presentations on topics of interest and those with specific expertise are coopted when required.
