What is the Health Community Council?

A group of interested professionals, appointed by the Queensland State Government Minister for Health, who aim improve the safety, availability and quality of health care for all people in the community.

It does this by helping you as an individual or member of a group in the community have your say on matters of health at the PA hospital.

What does the Health Community Council do for the community?

It seeks and listens to your concerns about healthcare.

It then tries to address the concerns with appropriate health professionals or administrators at the PA hospital with your involvement.

It monitors healthcare effectiveness on your behalf.

It can report, advise and update the Minister on community concerns about healthcare services at the PA hospital.

Who can write to the Health Community Council?
Any individual or community group using the services of the PA Hospital, no matter where you live.

Can I send in a complaint about my healthcare to the Health Community Council?

Usually complaints are managed by a hospital complaints department but sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between a complaint and a healthcare concern.

The Health Community Council does not deal with complaints, but if you feel that the quality of the health issue should be of concern to the community, then contact the Council.
