The Princess Alexandra Hospital Media and Communications Unit manages all media requests for information. This helps the hospital protect the privacy of patients and their families, and to make sure that any statements given to the media or general public are correct and consistent.
If the media calls requesting a patient’s condition, Media and Communications staff will give them a report on a patient’s general condition, using standard terms: good, stable, serious or critical.
If the media calls you directly, please ask them to contact the Media and Communications Unit on (07) 3176 7899 and tell a staff member. You do not have to answer any questions asked by the media.
