Your medical record is private and only health care professionals involved with your treatment can see it. This record is the property of the hospital, and the contents will be given only with your consent or where required by law.
If you are transferred to another hospital, a copy of relevant information will go with you, so that you receive the appropriate care.
Patients may gain access to their medical records via the Administrative Access Policy or the Freedom of Information Act 1992.
