The Princess Alexandra Hospital has a range of services and facilities to help make your stay easier and more comfortable.
Are you of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent? All patients coming into Princess Alexandra Hospital must be asked this question on admission to the Hospital. This allows Queensland Health to tailor health programs and services to meet the specific needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hospital Liaison Officers are a cultural link between health professionals and Indigenous patients and their families. The service can help patients and their families find places to stay, speak to social workers as well as other support services.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison office is in Patient and Administrative Support Services, Ground Level, Building 1.
You can contact this service by phoning

All wards accommodate both public and private patients. There are no wards designated private. Wards consist of single and shared rooms and are allocated on the basis of clinical need.

If this happens, clinical staff will ensure that they do not cause embarrassment to patients in the room.
