Welcome to the Princess Alexandra Hospital Past Nurses Association homepage.
The Past Nurses Association was founded in November 1967 by the then Matron of PAH, Doris Broomfield. Our fundraising provides for many requests from within the hospital - including funding for conferences for nursing staff, equipment for patients, sporting equipment for patients in the Spinal Injuries Unit, and facilities for relatives such as the ICU relatives lounge.
The committee receives and consideres many requests each year and we are very proud of the assistance we have given staff, patients and relatives of the hospital over many years. Our very first fundraising project was to raise funds for the first hospital chapel on the PAH site so our assistance to various projects goes back over 40 years.
The main event for 2010 is our annunal re-union lunch which will be held at PA Hospital on Saurday the 13th November 11am to 4pm. (More information to follow).
The other exciting celebration in 2010 is that it is 50 years this year since the first graduation of nurses (2nd December 1960)
Membership to the association is open to all past and present nursing staff of the Princess Alexandra Hospital. The fee is $5.00 per year or $20.00 for four years.
