The QTMHC produces a quarterly newsletter, 'Translinks', which is issued in March, June, September and December providing up-to-date information on QTMHC activities and discussion of topical transcultural mental health issues.

This report focusses on the process used to translate the Mental Health Inventory (MHI) into 13 community languages. |
The QTMHC is committed to hosting seminars focused on the perspectives on mental health and mental illness that different culturally and linguistically diverse communities hold. These seminars aim to assist mental health clinicians and other mental health workers in increasing their capacity to provide culturally meaningful and effective mental health services.
Between 2004 and 2006, the QTMHC conducted regular seminars on the perspectives CALD communities have about mental health and mental illness. The seminars were presented by workers and professionals from the communities. Seminar presenters covered historical and cultural aspects such as communication, religious and acculturation issues and more specifically focussed on pre-migration and post-migration mental health risk and protective factors and cultural explanatory models of mental illness, utilisation of mental health services and treatments. Most seminars reached out to regional areas via video-conferencing and were video-recorded.
