Transcultural Clinical Consultation Service


The Transcultural Clinical Consultation Service (TCCS) is a specialist mental health service provided by the Qld Transcultural Mental Health Centre to meet the needs of people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

The TCCS is not an alternative to mainstream mental health services, but a specialist consultation service that works in partnership with mainstream mental health agencies and other service providers to ensure that services provided are comprehensive and culturally and linguistically appropriate.

The Depression & Chronic Disease Program also falls under the Transcultural Clinical Consultation Services. For more information on this program, click here.

NOTE: Bilingual/bicultural health professionals are not accredited interpreters and are not available as interpreters.


How to refer to TCCS.......

Mental health professionals, community workers, consumers, carers or friends can contact the Intake Officer by phone to discuss available options and formulate appropriate interventions.  The Intake Officer is available from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday - Friday.

Bilingual/Bicultural mental health professionals wanted

The TCCS is looking for cultural consultants to work for the Centre on a casual basis. We offer training opportunities for those registered with the service and reimburse people for their work. If you are a bilingual/bicultural psychiatrist, psychiatry registrar, clinical nurse, social worker, psychologist or occupational therapist who has experience in mental health and you are located in Queensland, please contact Vivienne Braddock on 3167-8333 or via email vivienne_braddock@health.qld.gov.au or alternatively download the Bilingual/Bicultural Worker Registration Form below and forward the completed form to our office for processing.
