Research Governance
What is Research Governance?
It ensures that the public can be confident that high quality and responsible research is being undertaken in healthcare. It encompasses the broad principles of good quality research including high scientific, quality and ethical standards with clear allocation of roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for everybody involved.
Within the “National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research” and the “Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research” the responsibilities are set out for institutions, researchers, care professionals and others involved in research. Further information on the publications and research governance can be found at: http://www.nhmrc.gov.au http://www.health.qld.gov.au/ohmr/html/regu/regu_home.asp
