Acquired Brain Injury Outreach Services ABIOS

Services Offered:

The Acquired Brain Injury Outreach Service facilitates successful community integration for people with acquired brain injury, and provides training and consultancy to service providers and carers. Services include:

Client assessment - cognitive, social, physical and activities of daily living
Community integration, including:
- Rehabilitation service coordination
- Counselling and advice
- Goal setting
- Behaviour management
- Family education
- Advocacy
- Independent living skills
- Vocational goal clarification
- Pre-vocational activities, and
- Referral to appropriate services.

Client programs are based in the community and include a range of services and supports to assist people in establishing themselves in their own community. ABIOS builds formal and informal networks of support around people with acquired brain injury to respond to individual need. Direct service provision is provided to clients within a 150km radius of Brisbane. ABIOS provides training and consultancy throughout Queensland.
