ASIS offers patients requiring intravenous therapy an alternative to hospitalisation. This could either be home care or outpatient treatment. Many different conditions, such as endocarditis, osteomyelitis, brain abscesses, wound infections, and kidney infections can now be successfully managed at home or in an infusion centre.
Patients referred to ASIS must live or be staying within the operational boundaries of the service. These boundaries include the catchment areas of the Princess Alexandra Hospital, QEII, Redland, and Ipswich Hospitals.
