Candidate Support Program
Princess Alexandra Hospital has a dedicated Candidate Support Program to help with the transition of employees from outside the state or country, to their new employment at Princess Alexandra Hospital. The focus of the role is orientating new staff and assisting with their relocation including, but not limited to, providing a single point of communication and helping connect you with real estate, accommodation, educational facilities and community groups. We offer assistance to all new employees or potential candidates including medical, nursing and allied health staff. Relocation Support
Princess Alexandra Hospital can offers relocation reimbursements to eligible staff. These reimbursements may include: temporary accommodation when you first arrive, cost of moving your goods and belongings to Brisbane; flights or petrol expenses incurred travelling to Brisbane. Some reimbursements are paid after 6 or 12 months of service. Please discuss your entitlements with the Candidate Support Officer.

Accomodation
The major residential suburbs surrounding Princess Alexandra Hospital include Woolloongabba, Coorparoo, Greenslopes, Annerley, Kangaroo Point and East Brisbane. However, our proximity to the Brisbane central business district means that getting to work via road or public transport is relatively easy from any suburb in Brisbane. Banks
A number of banks offer on-site “bank and work” facilities at Princess Alexandra Hospital, including Credit Union Australia, Bankwest, Commonwealth Bank and Westpac. In addition, our central location means that an ATM or bank branch is never far away. The major banks of Australia will usually accept applications for opening an account online from foreigners.
There are almost 1,000 state schools and 450 independent and Catholic schools in Queensland. In addition, Queensland has nine of Australia's 37 universities, including some of the largest universities, the newest university, metropolitan universities and stronlgy regional ones. Princess Alexandra Hospital has close training and research ties with the three biggest universities in Brisbane: the University of Queensland, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and Griffith University.

Transport
The area surrounding Princess Alexandra Hospital is a transport hub for Brisbane's southside: within a kilometre radius there are two railway stations and two large bus interchange stations. The “busway” station on the hospital campus provides a direct link to the inner city, the University of Queensland and other key points of interest in Brisbane's southern suburbs.

Visas and Work Permits
You will be required to have a valid and current visa or work permit before commencing work with the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Our Candidate Support Program (see above) can also help you with visa and work permit issues.
