Nursing : A Magnet hospital |
![]() Princess Alexandra Hospital is proud to have been granted the prestigious Magnet status twice. |
In 2004, we were the first hospital in the Southern Hemisphere to be awarded the prestigious Magnet designation. The Magnet Recognition Program is a credentialing status developed by the American Nurses Credentialing Centre (ANCC) to recognise health care organisations that demonstrate excellence in all aspects of nursing services.
Achieving Magnet status is more than just an international nursing award – it is recognition of PAH’s culture, leadership and patient care.
In 2009, we were awarded Magnet status for the second time - the only health care organisation outside the United States to achieve this.
