Princess Alexandra Hospital will triple the size of its existing emergency department with a new $88 million development on the south-east corner of the hospital. The development will feature 4,100 square meters of new space plus 800 square meters of upgraded space. It includes an extended emergency department, a new Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU), Mental Health emergency assessment area, helipad with elevator to ground level, and new radiation oncology bunkers for cancer treatment.
