Doubling the size of our emergency department


Princess Alexandra Hospital's $134 million expansion project is now complete. 

The project included a major expansion to the hospital's emergency department, a new Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU), a helipad with elevator to ground level, new radiation oncology bunkers for cancer treatment, and a new molecular imaging (PET scan) facility. The emergency department officially opened in November 2010; while the final stage of the project, new radiation oncology facilities, accepted its first patients in early 2012.
