An Environmental Health Scientist integrates knowledge of both environmental and human health systems to effectively identify, assess and address existing and potential risks to human health from environmental hazards. They have a sound understanding of the most appropriate methods for risk control and management.
An Environmental Health Scientist also has the ability to anticipate and research emerging risks to human health resulting from advances in technology, new environmental hazards and changes to environmental systems as a consequence of natural or man made activity.
An Environmental Health Scientist will generally have a degree in science, applied science or engineering which includes a focus relevant to the interaction between the environment and human health. For example:
