Epidemiology serves as the foundation and logic of interventions made in the interest of the public's health. Epidemiology is a discipline including multiple specialisations. These specialities include communicable disease epidemiology, clinical epidemiology and evaluation. The Queensland Health epidemiology workforce contains units comprised of generalist and specialist epidemiologists. Epidemiologists provide services in discipline specific and multidiscipline teams.
