2011 Statewide Emergency Department Patient Experience Survey

Survey methodology

Patients who used Queensland Health public hospital emergency departments (EDs) from 1 May to 30 June 2011 were randomly selected and invited to participate in the survey. The survey was conducted via a Computer Assisted Telephone Interview (CATI). The data collection, analysis and hospital-based reporting were completed by December 2011.

Why survey emergency department patients?

The statewide Emergency Department Patient Experience Survey was developed and conducted in response to a greater Queensland Health strategic focus on the quality of services delivered in EDs and to align with the Queensland Health Patient Flow Strategy's goal of improving the patient's journey.  Survey results:
