The Clinical Services Capability Framework for Public and Licensed Private Health Facilities version 3.0 (CSCF v3.0) is the result of a comprehensive review of CSCF v2.0 (2005). Service descriptions have been clarified and three new adult-specific service modules and seven children-specific service modules have been developed. CSCF v2.0 had five service levels and CSCF v3.0 has expanded to six levels of service.
CSCF v3.0 has been designed to guide a coordinated and integrated approach to health service delivery and planning in Queensland. It applies to both public and licensed private health facilities throughout Queensland. Where services are planned and delivered using the standard set of minimum capability criteria, safe and quality service provision should be enhanced.
All health care, planning and management staff are required to use the CSCF v3.0 which outlines the minimum service, workforce and support service requirements to ensure safe and appropriately supported clinical services in public and licensed private health care facilities.
The CSCF v3.0 is now available on the Queensland Health web site: http://www.health.qld.gov.au/cscf/
