Section 18 of the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (the FOI Act) requires each government agency to publish an up-to-date statement of the agency’s affairs annually. The legislation requires that the statement describe:
the agency’s structure and functions and how they affect the community
how members of the public can participate in developing the agency’s policies and exercising its functions
the kinds of documents held by, and the literature available from, the agency
all bodies of two or more people, which exist to advise the agency
what arrangements the agency has in place to enable members of the public to pursue matters under the FOI Act.
