Queensland Health commissioned external consultants KPMG in July 2008 to undertake a review of Queensland Health responses to adult victims of sexual assault. The review included an examination of the current system across Queensland Health and funded services, best practice elements of a contemporary response based on national and international evidence and recommendations for a way forward.
This review has identified a number of areas where improvement is required. Queensland Health is considering the best way to implement improved responses. In moving forward, Queensland Health will engage with key stakeholders involved in responding to adult victims of sexual assault.
