In 2007, Queensland Health undertook statewide health services planning in the areas of renal, cancer treatment, and rehabilitation medicine services and a review of neonatal care services. In developing these plans, a wide range of stakeholders were consulted from across Queensland Health, external health service providers and other government agencies. This valuable contribution resulted in the development of three statewide clinical service plans and one report.
These documents demonstrate the commitment necessary to meet the challenges faced by our health system and are consistent with the Statewide Health Services Plan 2007-12.
These ministerially-endorsed plans identify what we aim to achieve over the short, medium and longer term and provide the platform to guide government and non-government service planning across the health service continuum. The plans guide and direct the improvements and innovations necessary for service delivery models and actions for safe, effective and efficient delivery of renal, cancer treatment, rehabilitation medicine and neonatal health care services within our communities.
Queensland Health commends these plans to you, and thanks everyone who participated in their development.
