We are a self-help, voluntary group based on the Gold Coast and also servicing Northern NSW. We have been established since 1986 for amputees to support each other through exchange of experiences and information and to visit new amputees in hospital and in their homes. Our Association is open to all amputees, their families and anyone interested in supporting amputees. We communicate through meetings, social gatherings, phone support and our newsletter. Membership is $10.00 annually.

Amputees & Families Support Group Inc

We are a non-profit, self-help, community organisation dealing with amputation and the resultant health care issues arising. The aim of the Organisation is to increase the effective management of amputation by offering mutual support and encouragement to individuals and their families through the various grief and loss stages they encounter following loss of limb, and to assist them to accept and integrate this traumatic change into their personal, domestic, vocational, cultural and recreational environments. Services offered:

• hospital and home visitation
• advocacy
• a quarterly newsletter
• individual and family support and socialisation
• social outings
• information on technical aids and equipment
• liaison with like support groups and with professionals both in Government and non-Government organisations

Limbkids Is a non-profit, voluntary organisation comprised of parents, professionals and interested people concerned with the care of children who have congenital or acquired limb differences. The Limbkids network provides various services:

Limbless Soldier's Association of Queensland

The Limbless Soldier's Association, Queensland was formed in 1922, and is still going strong, to maintain and assist all Ex-servicemen who have been accepted as Service related under the Veteran's Entitlement Act, by the Department of Veteran's Affairs, as Limbless. For our members, we have an Office at Riverside, Oxlade Drive, New Farm, which is attended from 9 to 11 am each Wednesday.

Amputee Support Assoc. Sunshine Coast Inc

We are a voluntary non-profit association with no paid officials, formed in 1994, dedicated to the care and welfare of amputees here on the Sunshine Coast and hinterland. Our activities include Hospital/Home visitation, 24 hr open phone line, monthly amputee clinic, transportation to hospital, clinic, shopping,. We are committed to the care of amputees from pre-surgery to final rehabilitation and beyond by companionship, encouragement, compassion and practical assistance.
